The Res-O Theory

When we created our business plan years ago, we compiled a list of traits that our products must have. Here is that list, and we are proud to say we have delivered on all of them.

1.  Bring back the highly sought after Res-O-Glas Guitar body and recreate it according to its   original fiberglass specifications.

2.  Design a guitar body so that it is simple to build and accepts a wide variety of parts, including vintage and new parts.

3.  Manufacture the guitar in the United States.

4.  Sell products direct to consumers via the Web and keep all costs as low as possible.

5.  Provide our customers a safe and secure way of purchasing our products.  Deliver quickly and provide excellent customer service.

The $339* Res-O-Glas Guitar

GuitarKitsUSA sells the following parts for the guitar shown above:

Res-O-Glas R Guitar Body         $235.00
Res-O-Glas Pickup Ring     $14.99

The following parts for the guitar shown above were purchased from other vendors:

Used Floating Bridge With Tune-O-Matic (Modified)   $22.99
Used Silvertone Neck With Tuners   $26.89
Pre-wired Pickup (scratch and dent from Guitarfetish.com)   $20.00
Input Jack     $3.00
Volume Knob (a la Daka ware)      $0.79
Epoxy      $4.82
Dobro Style Reissue Tailpiece    $10.99

The guitar featured at the top of this page is an excellent example of how you could build a     Res-O-Glas Guitar on a tight budget. For example, the daka ware-looking volume knob is actually a timer knob found at a local hardware store. Using a mixture of vintage and new products, we were able to construct a gig-worthly guitar over the course of a weekend.
